I want to buy (and almost have to) new tires for my 88 325is -- and obviously I do not want winter tires!!
The problem is, my OEM tire size -- 195/65/14 is impossible to find in anything BUT an all season or winter!!
My question is, what can I do?? I've heard from a few people that I can go with a 205/60/14, but I've never read it from a credible source.
I have the 14" basketweaves. I wish I could find some high or ultra-high performance summers.

Well your car is already in pieces, just upgrade to 5 lugs and 18's.[RollEyes]
Unfortunatly in this day and age performance tires only seem to come on huge wheels, just be glad you don't have 13" E21 wheels! Oh btw, I have Dunlop SP Sport A2's, yea they are all season tires but they are quite nice in dry weather too.

yea, but in the world of ricers with small wheels (like 14"), you think there'd be more smaller high performance tires.
My car kicks most other 14"-wheel-equiped car's asses. They dont need high performance, but they arent capable of 130 mph and handling mountainous roads like mine.
So far, the ONLY all seasons I've seen that looked okay were the bridgestone Bridgestone Potenza RE950 (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE950)

eric, any tire will go 130 mph. the rating is for continious speed, not for a few miles or so.... i'm not sure about where you are, but if you go 130 mph for more than a mile or so around here, you'll end up in federal prison..... i have warrior all season tires on my 750 and they work great..... and they've seen 130 mph and lived to tell

I think where Eric lives that if he went 130 for too far (if at all), he'd hit some Amish peeps.
