Just bought some 17x8 style 42's for $55 a pop that need some work. The centers are almost immaculate except for one has a suspected impact gun scratch. I'll probably leave the centers alone, but the barrels sure need work.

My plan it to remove the bolts (I hope hope hope they don't break) throw some paint stripper on the barrels, then wetsand like crazy with 400-600-800-1000-1500-2000, then polish. At this point since I haven't actually started work this is all just meaningless drivel.

PICS.

Damn those are going to look awesome! Definitely one of the best looking wheels for the e39!

Man, removing the centers was a royal pain in the ass. I had to take a rag and rubber mallet and hit at 0-90-180-270 degrees, do that quite a few times and eventually they fell out. Now it's stripper time.[Dance]

I'm now about half done stripping the clearcoat, I've gotten most of it, but some is clinging on in the corners.

They do look nice on the E39. Kicking myself for trading this car in.
